Description: 2 1/2 story brick and stone French Norman Country Manor, slate with steep gables roof; with pool, gazebo and patio: 4 bedrooms.
Story 1: Cecil Duell helped design the house.  He was a stone carver and added his stone carving to the house: crests, corner quoins and arched lintels.  The eagle in back was done for a downtown bank and then not used there.  He had his stone carving studio in the 2nd floor loft and moved stones there from his truck in the garage with a pulley system, still visible in the present family room, his garage (in 2000 the family room has a bedroom above it where the original pulley system ran).
Story 2: The Richard and Charla Thomas home was on the 2000 Sunday December 3 Terrace Park Garden Club Home Tour.  Homes were open 1-5 PM.  The Community House was open from 12-5 PM for Holiday Fair. refreshments, ticket sales and restrooms.  Proceeds were used to continue the beautification of our village.
Story 3: Dwight H. Short I died 1996.  Dr. Dwight Hershell Short II, son of Dwight & Juanita, died 31 October 2008.  Lola Juanita Short was born 22 June 1914 in Graham KY & died 8 November 2009 aged 95 years,  Craver Riggs Funeral Home.  (More information in the obituary at TP Historical Society.)
