| 1952 - side porch converted to a dining room. Kitchen doubled in size. Room built on the back of the house. Porch added to the back. Garage moved to the back of the lot. (Dick Bousman of 721 Myrtle built the addition to the Gunnison. The architect was Wilbur M. Firth, registered architect with the State of Ohio, 7124 Montgomery Road, Silverton OH. The Terrace Park Historical Society has a copy of the plans, a gift from Eleanor Gallagher: lot on Myrtle; side, rear, side & front elevations; Foundation Plan; First Floor Plan.) 1962 - patio added off the porch. 1982 - little pool added. | Story 1: | The Gallaghers moved into their house 1 month before the birth of their
first child. They brought up 3 children (Timothy, Gay and Joyce) here and in 1996 Graydon and Eleanor
had lived happily there for 55 years (over 60 years before Graydon died.)
Eleanor Gallagher was for a very long time a teacher at Terrace Park School. Walter Graydon Gallagher was born 1 August 1914 and died 16 March 2002, aged 88 years. Eleanor Schaffer Gallagher was born 29 August 1914 and died 17 June 2009, aged 95 years. They are both buried in St. Thomas Church Columbarium Section 1, Niche 14, Craver-Riggs Funeral Home.. |
