| Story 1: | House designed by Jack's brother, Cyrus, of Baxter, Woodward Architects in Mariemont. Jack did some of the drawings. Cyrus also lived in Terrace Park (404 Stanton) and built their house. |
| Story 2: | Unusual feature: Jack received a national award for plastics in 1939 or 40 for the first adaptation of a plastic fixture over fluorescent lights. He was a plastics pioneer. |
| Story 3: | When the Baxter home was built there were no houses on the south side of Home from Myrtle to Elm. One could drive a golf ball from his house to the dump. There were many Victory Gardens behind him. These lots were distributed by the village on request. |
| Story 4: | Jack Baxter was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and was related to the Broadwell family across the river in/near Newtown through his mother who rode across the river to get the railroad into town. He was also related to Dr. Robertson, dentist, at 602 Miami (Jack's great uncle and mayor of Terrace Park 1912-15). The dental office of Dr. Robertson is no longer as it was at the back of the now greatly enlarged house. Ruth Schmithorst (322 Harvard) was Jack's sister. Jack's material on ancestors who settled around or near Terrace Park - but not in Terrace Park - may be in the Cincinnati Historical Society |
| Story 5: | There is census information in the West-Lloyd-Sibley notebook - the Wallace H. Baxter family. This family appears in the 1910, 1920, 1930 & 1940 census. Wallace H. may be Howard. Ruth B., John E., and Cyrus L. are children along with Roger B. & Eleanor L. and their mother Clara W. Baxter. So far I've not been able to find the link of this family to Oliver T. Robertson. |
