Description:    This house is on the Galloway listing of Railroad Houses.  They were built in the 1890s from blueprints sold by a Cincinnati architect for $25.  All are in Sibley's subdivisions.  2 1/2 story Victorian, siding, steep gable.

Stories:

Story 1: 1969 scrapbook - color pictures. A wonderful large black and white photo of the West family members in 1926 at their home is in the file. Note porches later taken off and in late 1990s added again. Family related to Oliver Robertson (602 Miami) as well as to the Sibleys and Lloyds - see family notebook at T. P. Historical Society).
Story 2: 1911-12 Directory at Miami and Miami & Marietta: Sam R. West (Ellen) and S. A. West (Elizabeth) - attorney (this is Samuel Roberts Strong West with his 1st wife Ellen McCommon & Samuel's father [Samuel Adams West] and mother [Elizabeth Hoyt West]); also James W. Sibley - ex mess (this is the grandson of J. W. Sibley the developer). West family children were John McCauley West, David Strong West, Oliver Huber West, Richard Belt West, Katharine Rebecca West and Elizabeth Libby Hoyt West. (She later ran a horse farm.) (Katharine Rebecca West McComb died in Florida February 14, 2006)

Story 4: Relationships after the death of Elizabeth Hoyt West: Rebecca J. Beissel, 42, South West City, MO, daughter; Catherine W. Robertson, 39, Terrace Park OH, daughter; Harriett W. Sibley, 36, Terrace Park OH, daughter; Elizabeth W. Coaney, 29, St. Louis MO, daughter; Samuel R. S. West, 32, Terrace Park OH, son. (Catherine West Robertson is married to Oliver T. Robertson at 602 Miami Avenue. Harriet West Sibley is married to .
Story 5: Samuel P. West was born 25 December 1843 and died 1 November 1922, aged 78 years. Samuel R. S. West was born in 1880 and died 19 November 1935, George H. Rohde Funeral Home. His wife, Alice M. West, was born 22 September 1896 and died 13 November 1949, aged 53 years, Monroe Funeral Home. They are all buried in Section 12 of Greenlawn Cemetery, Milford OH. Samuel's and Alice's daughter Elizabeth H. West was born 23 July 1917 and died 20 April 1985, buried in Section 20 of Greenlawn Cemetery, Milford OH.
Story 6: A Coaney infant was born and died 18 June 1907, buried in Section 12 of Greenlawn Cemetery, Milford OH.
Story 7: Mary Hyer, (daughter of David Strong West?) a West, lived recently on Stanton (late 1990)s? Is she at 734 Floral and then 207 Rugby?
Story 8: Kathy West McComb Martin died 23 January 2016 in Dayton OH following respiratory problems. Her husband's name is Leon Martin. Her mother was a very close friend of Helen Barnett. Kathy has done quite a lot of genealogical work but says
Story 9: Newell Thomas Preston Jr. was born 7 February 1919 and died 27 February 1999, aged 80 years. Mary Betty Lou Preston was born 6 July 1918 and died 8 November 2003, aged 85 years. They are both buried in St. Thomas Church Columbarium Section 5, Niche 126, Craver-Riggs Funeral Home. Their son Newell Thomas Preston III was born 22 October 1943 and died 8 January 1996, aged 53 years. He is buried in the niche next to his parents, #125 at St. Thomas, Craver-Riggs Funeral Home.
Story 10: The Laurie and Kim Baird home was on the 2005 Terrace Park Garden Club/Historical Society's Generation Renovation House Tour. Homes were open from 1-4 PM and tickets were $12.
