Stories:

: 1 Information from Esther Power: prefab built by Clermont Lumber Co., the only one they ever built (Ferd Critchell)
Story 2: According to Barbara Hornby, older daughter of Halsey and Marie Bechtel, this original house was carted away by someone and re-erected in Athens (or was it Akron?) OH.
Story 3: County Auditor's site says this house was built in 1935 but that must be wrong since, according to the realtor's listing, it was only 2 years old (actually probably 4 years old) when the Bechtels bought it from the Greigs. It was probably built in the 1950s with the Greig family being the first owners. The Bechtels bought it in 1960. This house does not show on the 1939, 1942 or 1951/3 maps. The Bechtels enlarged the living room out towards the front and added a screened porch on the back. ( See letter from Barbara Hornby in the T. P. Historical Society House File)
Story 4: Halsey Guerin Bechtel was born 30 July 1906 and died 3 March 1983, aged 76 years.. Marie Foulkrod Bechtel was born 3 April 1908 and died 1 June 1993, aged 85 years. They are both buried in St. Thomas Columbarium, Section 4, Niche 114
